BA Costume for Performance student Amy Thompson finds inspiration in literature and the dystopian future for this short fashion film Herland.
Amy Thompson, a final year student on the BA Costume for Performance course, delivers this engaging, literature inspired, fashion short film. “I have created a set of costumes inspired by the feminist utopian novel called Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman,” says the designer. “The concept for my costumes follows the narrative of the Goddess of Motherhood. This Goddess brings parthenogenetic fertility to a world where all of the men have died, and only the women are left to survive. The costumes are dramatic and futuristic.”
