We love Fanny Garnichat‘s geometric, abstract collages, so we asked the graphic designer a few questions about her creative process.
Fanny collects imagery from magazines, including Pigeons & Peacocks (of course), and deconstructs this imagery to compose entirely new abstract images which she describes as “little forms; like objects in suspension”.
The 23 year old graphic designer from Paris tells us she likes working with the constraints of the content in the particular magazine she is using at the time, and explains that she’s “interested in the association of colors, shapes and materials. I love composing a totally new image with all the pieces I’ve collected, to give new life and a new sense of meaning to a photograph. I want to show that we can rethink an image to infinity and each version can be rebuilt by one’s imagination.”
