P&P has always been a massive fan of Amber Butchart – fashion historian, LCF Associate Lecturer and all around vintage style icon – so you can imagine our delight when we found out about her upcoming talk Beyond Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
To celebrate the launch of her brand new book The Fashion of Film, following on from the much-loved Nautical Chic, Butchart will be talking at Beyond Retro in Dalston, at their Archive Pop Up, and exploring how silver screen style has influenced fashion and so much more. Who can ever forget Keira Knightley’s green Jacqueline Durran dress in Atonement or Diane Keaton’s tailoring in Annie Hall? Supermodel Kate Moss named Bonnie and Clyde as her favourite film, as we are sure part of the reason is to do with Faye Dunaway’s iconic mix of berets, knits and tweed. Butchart’s talk will focus on how cinema has influenced fashion over the last 100 years.
The talk is on 21st September and the evening’s activities begin at 6:30pm. Tickets are totally free and can reserved on Eventbrite. Hurry to reserve your place at what is sure to be an exciting and educational exploration of cinematic style!
We’ll see you there!
