We made this
Pigeons & Peacocks version #2 was designed and built at London College of Fashion by David Hardy (graphic design) and Alastair Mucklow (web development). Our brief was to ‘grow up’ version #1 of the site, and produce a sophisticated interface in line with the evolution of the printed magazine. We’ve aimed to foreground the work of the site’s contributors, photographers and artists, in a form that delights as it engages. Did we succeed? You tell us.

Editorial
From the mountain of fantastic work submitted to this site and the Flickr pool, our editorial team – John William, Alastair Mucklow, Megan Sharp and Dan Bowan – make selections for feature on this site.
In addition to these contributions, we also publish articles from the Pigeons & Peacocks print magazine and quarterly zine.
Technical
This website is built to web standards for XHTML and CSS using the WordPress CMS. The scrolling and sliding effects you experience are achieved through the jQuery library.
The site looks best viewed with a modern browser, on a Mac (so the fonts and buttons look nice and smooth), with a nice wide screen, and preferably a cup of tea and a biscuit. However, for those of you without such fussy accoutrements, it still works just fine – just don’t forget the tea and biscuit.
Wherever possible, we’ve linked up to Flickr to feed in content from our pool, and to celebrate the ongoing creative output of those featured on the site.
If you’d like to feed back on any aspect of the website, please use the feedback panel at the bottom of each page.
